Serre Chevalier, the biggest resort, situated in the French Southern Alps, borders the mighty peaks of the Park National des Ecrins and Italy. Thirteen villages and scattered hamlets are nestled along the upper valley of the Guisane river. This area receives more than 300 days of sunshine per year and has an impressive snow record. Serre Chevalier has extensive infastructure with 62 lifts and 101 groomed trails. The total terrain at Serre Chevalier is 1170 acres. The nearest airport to Serre Chevalier is at Turin. Serre Chevalier offers a mixture of old and new development with some charming old village centres, and also a lot of modern development as these have expanded. Facilities off the slopes have been improving in recent years too with more highly starred hotels, a great spa complex and a casino opening. On the slopes there?s a great mix of terrain and you get a nice feeling of travel as you ski from village to village.
