La Plagne is made up of a number of villages that connect to a vast 220 km piste network, within the Paradiski area. with no less than 10 separate resort bases giving an unrivalled choice of holiday experiences from traditional valley villages to high altitude satellite bases. With the new double decker Vanoise express now linking Les Arcs, it is one of the largest ski areas in the world with over 420 km of piste! And then there is the off-piste...acres of alpine terrain. One note of caution; La Plagne has a lot of flat spots so snowboarders often have to do some walking. Off the slopes the purpose built resort of La Plagne has enough bars and restaurants to keep everyone fed and watered. Take a La Plagne ski holiday and you?ll find the resort?s sheer size means there is something for almost everyone ? only people looking for a small, intimate ski area might be disappointed, and even then there?s the option to stay in one of the valley resorts like Montalbert The resort?s scale also means there?s lots of things to do off the slopes, although the facilities are spread out between the different bases, so be careful to check where a spa or nursery is located in relation to your hotel or apartment if that?s especially important to you. For ski hire La Plagne has a huge choice. One attraction not to be missed is a ride down the bobsleigh run, left over from La Plagne?s hosting of the event in the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
